Skate To Recover Pre-Screening

In January, we gathered for a special moment in the journey of Skate To Recover.

A pre-screening cut of the documentary was shown during the 2026 Atmosphere Film Festival, hosted by Atmosphere Films at the historic La Paloma Theatre in Encinitas, CA. The evening was a powerful reminder that this story has grown into something much bigger than a film. The theater was filled with supporters, filmmakers, friends, and members of the community who came to watch, listen, and be part of the journey.

Seeing Skate To Recover on the big screen for the first time in a full theater was deeply encouraging. The response from the audience, the conversations afterward, and the shared excitement about what this story represents reminded us why we began telling it in the first place.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made the evening possible! The Atmosphere Film Festival team, the filmmakers who shared the night with us, and the many supporters who continue to believe in this story. We are especially thankful for partners like Abiding Practice, Open Road Global, Samaritan's Purse, and Ride Nature California who have helped make this project possible.

Most importantly, this moment was a reminder of the mission behind the film. Skate To Recover exists to support and amplify the work of Tite and the growing skate community in Juba, South Sudan. What began with a skateboard and a small group of young people is becoming a movement of hope, belonging, and faith.

This film is still in post-production, and there is meaningful work ahead to complete it. At the same time, the larger vision continues to grow: purchasing land in Juba, building South Sudan’s first skate park, and supporting the work of Skate to Recover Ministry on the ground.

The pre-screening was just one step in the journey.

More screenings, updates, and stories will continue to unfold in the months ahead. We are also preparing to launch a monthly Let Known newsletter beginning in June, where we will share progress on the film, updates from South Sudan, ways to pray, and opportunities to support the vision.

If you want to follow the movement, stay connected through Let Known’s social media, sign up for the newsletter, and consider supporting the work through prayer and giving.

Together, we believe something meaningful is being built. Skate to Recover is not just a film, but a place where young people in South Sudan can gather, skate, and discover hope.
